  1. Friendship is no doubt the number one reason to adopt. It is the longing of every being whether animal or human to connect to others and an animals love is unconditional. Unconditional!  No matter what, through thick and thin and at your best or worse they are always there to make any day better.
  2. Exercise and over all health should be on everyone’s mind, especially with the time we spend indoor at work or in front of devices. Walking your dog can be a way to get in those daily steps, enjoy some fresh air and even be more mindful. Exploring the neighborhood and making new friends is a great way to bond with your pet.  Chasing your cat round the house and finding their secret hiding space can be exhilarating as well. All of these activities build trust and confidence and make for an even stronger relationship.
  3. Saving a life is one of the most amazing feelings in the world. There are more homeless animals in the world than ever before as people just don’t seem to have that same level of commitment anymore. It is unfortunately true that many are put down because there are simply not enough homes. Take the time to spend time with the overlooked pets, the shy, scared ones, the black ones, the senior pets. They will all turn into perfect companions once they are out of the scary shelter. We have never adopted a pet that was not grateful. They the strongest bonds and they understand what you have done for them. They have taught us resilience and kindness in ways I could never have understood. I would not be the person I am without the love and lessons of all the pets I have been lucky enough to call mine.
  4. Entertainment is free. Yes, I said entertainment. I watch television with my dog Eli and there are few things more funny in life than watching him jump up to try to get the horse or dog barking on the television. It never gets old and he never gets them. Our other dog Norman has one amazing ability in life and that is knowing when he has had enough of others and needs his space. He simply walks into one of the rooms and uses his nose to close the door. If it is not fully closed he will push it until the task is complete. Most of our animals have had incredible talents over the years but that’s for another time. Every animal brings something unique to our lives and that is why we love them allScottsdale Pet Hotel Slider 6
