Small Dog Pet Costumes

Dressing up your small dog is often easier than finding costumes for larger dogs. When deciding on your pet costume, determine which theme you want to go with. Will it be an entire family theme, or just something for your pets to share?

Dog costumes are often broken out into the following categories: TV and Movies, Classic, Animals, Holiday, Pirate, Princess, Sports and Superhero. Depending on your own interests and preferences as well as your dog’s build, finding a costume that perfectly represents you and your pet can be fun.

Here are just a few of our favorites:

  • Casual Canine Taco
  • Minions (from Despicable Me)
  • Beetlejuice characters
  • UPS Dog (with a special dog treat delivery)
  • Einstein Dog
  • Chia Pet

  • Lion Dog (take an old mop, run it through the washing machine and craft a mane for your pooch)
  • Ballerina (a tu-tu will fit most any pup)

Cat Costumes

Cats, if willing, can also be dressed up for Halloween. Cat in the Hat cat costume – you bet. How about Puss ‘N’ Boots? You can either buy costumes pre-made or make your own. There are a number of ideas on websites such as Pinterest to give you some great ideas to play around with. Recently, we saw one creative person crochet a Princess Leah wig for her cat, and put the cat in a white gown. Love Yoda? There is even a costume for cats that fits across the front of their body with their front paws appearing as Yoda’s legs.

Star Wars Princess Leia Cat
